Imperial-style Kana paper, featuring dyed paper and karakami paper layered and beautifully adorned with gold and silver sand or foil, evolved from expressions cultivated within the Heian period's court culture. Through the sensibility of Kana calligrapher Kayu Kitagawa, colors and decorations derived from plant dyes resonate with the atmosphere of the seasons and the sentiment of waka poetry.
